I am an Associate Professor of Accounting and William Graham Faculty Scholar at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. My research studies the measurement of intangible capital and its consequences for investors, firms, and policymakers. I am particularly interested in how accounting systems capture assets such as human capital, customer relationships, and technology, and how mismeasurement affects economic decision-making.

I received a PhD in Business Administration from Stanford Graduate School of Business, an MA in Economics from Duke University, and a BS in Civil Engineering from Cornell University. Prior to academia, I worked in real estate private equity at LaSalle Investment Management and in the Investment Banking Division of UBS Securities.
